Open Space Workshop
As part of the Niantic River Watershed Protection Plan update, NRWC sponsored an Open Space workshop with local land trust and municipal land use commissions in February 2020. The workshop was conducted in response to recommendations made during the two watershed update community stakeholder workshops held in October 2019. Those recommendations included developing an inter-municipal, watershed-wide policy and planning strategy to conserve open space, improving communication among stakeholder groups, building open space coalitions, and expanding outreach and messaging efforts regarding open space conservation.
A summary of the workshop was prepared and can be reviewed here.
